So it's looking more like it's going to be Blackhawks vs. Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals. I'm really hoping the Kings can stage a comeback, however. I'm worried the Bruins will have difficulty handling the Hawks' speed. The most trouble the Bruins have had in these playoffs came against the Leafs (when you're down 4-1 in the third period of Game 7 with ten minutes left to go you really can't be in any more trouble and come out alive) and I believe the Leafs' speed had much to do with that. The Rangers and Penguins were teams the Bruins haven't had a lot of trouble keeping up with (we have some speedy guys ourselves: Paille, Krug, Marchand and the now injured Campbell to name a few) but I'm scared the Hawks will create the same problems for the Bruins that the Leafs did.
Also, if the Kings and Penguins are unable to overcome their deficits, we'll have two Original Six teams in the final for the first time since the Canadiens defeated the Rangers in 1979. This would also be the first time the Bruins and Blackhawks meet in the finals. They didn't even meet in the 1930s, when the Hawks made the finals three times (two Cup victories) and the Bruins made it two times (one Cup victory). It would also be the first time the two Original Six clubs have played each other in the playoffs since 1978.
Anyway, don't want to get ahead of myself. The Bruins have blown a 3-0 lead before. It's not likely to happen again but it's not impossible. I just think the Kings is a better match for the Bruins and I hope they can stage a comeback. Me scared of the Hawks
