Here's that post I've been meaning to do for our year-end lists.
Okay. So here's what we'll be ranking, all for the year of 2012 (nothing that airs or was released outside of 2012 is included):
- TV shows
- TV episodes
- Albums
- Singles
- Films
- Video Games
- Comic Books
We'll be doing SEPARATE lists for each of these. There seemed to be some confusion about that last time which I found odd. Obviously we're not going to be comparing Louie to Channel Orange.
The maximum number of items you can rank for each list is 20 and the minimum is 5.
You have 15 points (not 10, as I initially said) to distribute for each show/episode/album/single/film you rank. So if you rank 10 shows, you have 150 points. Or if you have 15 shows, you have 225 points. You can distribute them however you please. However, the maximum number of points you can give to any one item is 30.
I would like it very much if people did not distribute points strategically. For instance, let's say you're confident Community is going to be near the top of the list and you're worried that Ben and Kate isn't going to make the cut. You like Community more, and you rank Community higher, but you decide to give Ben and Kate more points because you want it to make the cut. Please don't do that. Distribute your points purely on how much you like something.
Make sure they are ranked. And make sure that as you go down your list, each subsequent show (or episode or whatever) has less points (or it can have the same - just make sure they don't have more) than the one above it.
Edit: As of right now, the deadline is set for sometime in early February
Edit 2: I'm fine with including British shows, like Rev., that aired in the UK in 2011 but didn't air in the US on Hulu until this past year.
Edit 3: You don't have to send in a list for all of these categories. Just the ones you're familiar with.
