I've had to read a lot of Borges stories from the collection Labyrinths and I've gotten pretty into his work. I finally finished completely reading the stories from the "Fiction" section of that collection on the plane today. I love the way each story functions as a very complex thought experiment as well as a compelling work of fiction in its own right. Every story I've read by Borges so far has been deeply thought provoking in more than a just a superficial sense. Does anyone here have any Borges stories they would rank among their favorites? I'm personally very partial to "Death and the Compass", as well as "the Garden of Forking Paths".

I think jeremy's iron performance in "the borges" is truly a masterful thing to behold. here we have the man who played "lolita" really stepping out of his pre-pubescent girl typecast role and giving us the emotional thrill ride we can only expect from the creator of the commen household iron. On the other hand i don't think the supporting cast are good enough to support this. the actress playing Lucrezia Borges doesn't seem to know what she's doing and is content with running around, along with her friend velma, and asking who the ghost is. thus my review of the first episode of "borges" is giving to be B-. (Please note I fall sleep ten minutes in and may have confused some of the borges with a late night scooby doo marathon)
