Here was my original post, so that people understand what we're doing here:
I wanna do something festive come December, you guys. So let's start planning it now. The AV Club does an advent calendar, and I think we should too. (Or if nobody wants to join in, I will do my own and report back here for you). I was thinking that for December 1st-23rd (let's say 23, so we can leave Christmas and Christmas Eve alone, but still have quite a bit of days), we have one of us talk about a particular winter holiday themed episode that they love and share it with the rest of us. One rule would be it can be a film, or a television series episode, but we can't have two episodes from the same show. This isn't a "everybody signs up to discuss every one of the 23 things we're going to post about," but rather people sign up for one of the 23 to talk about, and then share their thoughts, to which of course people can reply/discuss. We can also set out a schedule, so if people do want to watch along with certain things, they most certainly can. Does this sound like fun? Or am I just talking out of my ass. If so, reply to this with what film or tv episode you had in mind, and we'll see what this would start to look like. I'll withhold on posting my entry to give others a chance to pick whatever they want. This shouldn't be that time consuming either, since it's a month (and more) to prepare for a simple post. If people are interested, I'll coordinate the entire thing. (Also, maybe note if you want to see this happen, even if you don't want one of the slots, to know if people are interested.)
Whatcha got for me?
EDIT: if we get a lot of people who sign up, then I'll have no problem pushing it to the 24th and 25th, or even til New Year's, if needed. We shouldn't stop short, just because we ran out of slots or anything. But 23-25 or so is a good goal.
