By request of LloydBraun (ask him, he'll back this up), I will post my idea for a "DF:R" extra, which may be helpful in giving you an idea about how the bonus essays will work.
I came with an idea for a possible "Documentary Filmmaking: Redux" extra. I could detail some of the documentaries that inspired the episode; obviously Hearts of Darkness, but also something about Burden of Dreams and Lost in La Mancha. I could also relate the themes of the episode (the Dean's escalating demands, the role of the observer) to how they're portrayed in those films.
