There's been a couple of changes to the forum, and I'd love to highlight some of them here:
First off, you'll notice that Community now has its own section, with individual season boards too.
This may seem a bit much, but my experience with forums tells me that every forum is anchored around something, and Community is that very thing, so I thought it'd be best to promote more discussion of it by giving it more room to breathe. I might even add subforums at a later date with "Official Individual Episode Threads," since that seemed like a popular thing on every other television series forum I've seen. But, as always, there's also a "General Community Board," if you don't want to think too hard about where to put a Community-related post!
Secondly, there is a new ranking system for post counts. You'll accumulate stars in your profile and a "title" for every post count mile-stone that I've edited to be specifically Community themed. Here's the break down as of now:
This is all completely customizable too, so if the forum gains in popularity, I can raise the post counts to better vary the users, and also the titles can be renamed too (and we can have an unlimited number of them), so if you all come up with better Community-related things to call the rankings, feel free to throw some out.
You'll notice we now have a music player at the bottom of the page, because I couldn't resist having the ability to play some Bonnie Tyler and 8-Bit Community tracks on a whim while browsing. I'm currently looking around SoundCloud for links to other Community songs (like RHM and ITFS tunes especially) and will add them to the playlist if I find them.
Lastly, there's a behind the scenes change I'll point out. The link on the menu bar that says "TinyChat" now brings you to a forum-hosted page of the TinyChat room, instead of bringing you to the actual TinyChat page. I did this because some people mentioned that their school's (or maybe work) filter blocked TinyChat (the website). Now the only thing that loads is the flash application that connects to the room, and it doesn't have to load any URL of TinyChat, therefore bypassing that. Just a neat little trick, is all.
As always, if you think of any features that you might possibly want, feel free to request it in a thread, either here or elsewhere, I'm always open for making changes to the forum, for the betterment of the Community. Thanks!
