Marine Biology is one of the worse episode of the series, and I can't believe it's one of the more acclaimed of the season.

Conventions of Space and Time.
I know a lot of you guys liked this episode, but I was not a fan. I haven't rewatched any of the season 4 episodes so maybe my opinion will change.

After careful consideration, I chose "Advanced Intro to Finality", simply because it had the least good material. I can remember enjoying certain parts of "Heroic Origins" and "Intro to Felt Surrogacy," my other two choices, but I cannot say I remember laughing once at "AITF", or feeling much of anything when the ending came.

I'm gonna go with Knots. I didn't laugh once. My other least-favorite eps: Anatomy, Germans. The rest had something redeeming in them, and a few are in my top 25 (Felt, Finality, History 101, and Herstory).

I think Knots is pretty universally disliked. The character motivations in that episode are way wackier and unbelievable to me than Intro to Felt Surrogacy.

Knots at least had interesting camera work through most of the episode. Although it wasn't one long continuous shot like they wanted, it was still fun to watch.
I think the German episode had a good premise: someone steals their study group. That's a good idea! Unfortunately, the German jokes are terrible, the accents are broad, and they forgot to bring back the only German people cared about, Nick Kroll.
EDIT: Random thought about the Knots episode. Abed wishes it was Die Hard, but the group ties someone up like a hostage. They're like the Germans in Die Hard. They realized they were in the Germans in the German episode! Layers ... like a potato.

I voted for AHotGI, and I stand by that vote, but man oh man, I kind of wish I had voted for EoMB. German Invasion was lazy and generally a waste of television, but Marine Biology was borderline insulting, and felt like a betrayal of the characters. But, I guess a viscerally negative reaction is better than no reaction at all, or a mild negative reaction (at least they were trying something in Marine Biology, even if it failed miserably).

I think AHotGI had a great general idea, and the best acronym, but what they did with it was disappointing, lazy and crappy.
Knots is probably my second to least favourite. It just didn't sit well with me at all. Plus, after Annie's 'secret', it just... ugh.
Marine Biology is my third to least favourite.

Well the episode where they all graduate was something we've been leading up to, worrying about and anticipating for four years before we finally ended up with Advanced Introduction to Finality, which was just a shitty episode. It's not that, as an episode in and of itself, it sucks more than anything else this season, but even if everyone gave up on this season before the episode came out it's still pretty disappointing to look back on all that anticipating and realize that we ended up with something that's really shitty. They clearly didn't put enough work into building characters and character moments this season and that means the epic last year of college didn't climax in some of the most epic character moments the show has ever had, it just built up to nothing but squalor, and even if the next season is the most amazing thing ever and handles the fourth season in the most amazing way possible we still missed out on a lot because a lot of talented people left before the fourth season. This is all epitomized in the season finale.
