Honestly, there are only a couple things I'm hoping that season five will include:
-One classic concept episode that stands with the best of them
-Much more nuanced character arcs
-A better series finale than Season Four's
-Fresh take on season four without being totally dismissive
What about you guys?

There are a number of things I would like to see this season, although I trust Dan Harmon will deliver an enjoyable season of television no matter what direction he chooses to go in. I don't pretend to know what will truly satisfy me ahead of time.
I want a return to a more grounded feel for the show.
I want Dan to listen to Alison's long standing suggestion of an Annie/Britta kiss.
I'd like to see more complex characterization and well developed arcs.
I want to see Abed make some social progress.

On Hamontown Dan said he heard season four felt like fan-fiction and while he hadn't seen it yet he knew that meant he had to get back to the basics with nuanced characters and whatever. He also said he thought about having the weird guy come back out of the box and shrug it off like it had all been an awful mess but everyone already called that so he was going to treat season four on respectful terms. I can't remember if he said anything else but it was the first thing I heard about season five that actually made me look forward to it at all.
I want more season one stuff
I don't want Abed to make social progress, season one Abed was autistic but he was well-adjusted and I really liked that Abed and I want him back
I want pure character work. I'd sacrifice all the fun in the show to see some more episodes about something resembling real human beings.

A return to basics. If Jeff has graduated and moved on, they need to adjust to the new way that things are, so they should be in a small period of simply establishing what's what.

I honestly have no wishlist. The guest star parade looks awesome, but I'd be happy with anything as long as Dan Harmon is in charge.

Since Harmon came back on, I've had a pretty "I'll be happy with anything" attitude towards S5. I'm not even expecting quality the level for he first 3 seasons, just a legitimate denouement.
But the list of Guest Stars has just gone above and beyond in fulfilling any wish I could've possibly had, and then some. Brie Larson returning is like the last piece left that makes it completely perfect. (Of course now if an episode is bad, it will open the show up to criticism that it put too much effort into pandering to it's fanbase, but fuck that.)

Harmon mentioned a while ago that they were thinking about doing a Nic Cage ep, and based on promo pics, it looks like that's happening in the 2nd episode. That was an episode that I was interested in, so it's nice to see it happening.

I don't get how exactly this forum works and it makes me feel like Pierce (old) and what is this now I need a DisQus account to post in the 'CZ' thing here? Anyway, I just want season 5 to be TV magic. I have very high hopes for it. I agree with Dave's four demands from June except the kissing one cuz it doesn't seem necessary. And how's this: I'd like to cry once this season. Just openly bawl my eyes out. Can you do that for me, Harmon??

There's no rules or anything, and obviously doesn't get much traffic. Feel free to do whatever you want! The Disqus thing on the "CZ page" is just a little bonus feature. Since people like to have random, and inconsequential conversations, I thought I'd add a piece of familiarity to this place (and one that everybody would already be logged into) for these kinds conversations.
